What is Global Storm?

Global Storm is an opportunity for you to allow the Holy Spirit in you to reign down on the most hopeless, desperate, lost people of this earth.

What is the difference between Global Storm and other short-term mission opportunities?

Global Storm was designed for people who are ready to get serious about Jesus’ Great Commission. If you are determined to be involved in missions for the rest of your life, if you are convinced that you have a responsibility to be involved in missions, then Global Storm is for you. Global Storm is for those of you who desire to live out a Great Commission lifestyle, whether you go on to be a full-time missionary, or an accountant, or an elementary teacher. You get it. You get missions. You will not walk away from this short-term trip and forget it ever happened. You will go, or you will give, period.

What is the mission of Global Storm?
In today's world, there are countless organizations reaching out to those who are poor, hungry, homeless, sick, and dying. Where you find one organization, you will most likely find a similar organization within a hundred mile radius of the first. These organizations are doing a much-needed work, and usually seem to flock to the places where the need is the largest, where access is greatest, and where local governments welcome the help.

Global Storm also seeks to reach people who are poor, hungry, homeless, sick and dying; however, we desire to do that in two specific ways.

First, we want to walk alongside those workers who are already planted in the nations, to bring encouragement and rest, to restore hope and to show that we care. We put actions to our words with our hands and feet by joining them in their fight for freedom and justice for the oppressed.

Secondly, we aim to reach those in the darkest corners of the world. We want want to go into the dark alleyways, the sewage-filled slums, the forgotten rural villages. We want to touch the diseased hand of the leper, and the face of the woman who was forced to sell her body. We want to hold the fingers of the tiny boys living in cardboard boxes on the street, and hold the skin-and-bones body of the girl in the last stages of HIV/AIDS. We want to bring dignity and worth to those who have been hidden by shame. We can give hope to them through Jesus Christ in the form of water, of bread, of shelter, of education, and of hugs. Today as we laugh, and tonight as we dream, so many mothers and fathers and children will go to bed empty, cold, and completely alone. They will go to bed without dreams, focusing only on one thing: survival. As Global Storm, we commit together to not forget that these precious ones are out there, living without hope, living without dreams. And our dream is to show them that hope still lives.
